CHIMERA is a four-tube image-intensifier night vision device with Gen2+ white phosphor tubes, approximately 1200 FOM, and autogating. A built-in manual iris in each objective lens lets you adjust incoming light to suit the lighting and viewing distance. The device uses four CR123A batteries.
A built-in iris for each lens
- Adjust the view: independently adjust each iris to control the light reaching the tube and the resulting image brightness.
- Adjust depth of field: a smaller aperture can increase the range of distances that appear in focus. It also reduces incoming light, so adjust the opening to suit visibility in darker conditions.
- Help reduce bright-light exposure: limiting incoming light helps reduce the light load on the tubes in bright environments, including daytime handling.
The iris controls light optically. It does not directly adjust the electronic gain of the image intensifier tube.
White phosphor, approximately 1200 FOM, and autogating
The tubes have equivalent specifications to our other approximately 1200 FOM white phosphor autogated models. The view is displayed in white-to-grey tones. Autogating adjusts tube operation as ambient brightness changes.
FOM is an approximate reference value. Image quality, dark spots, and shading vary between individual tubes and with ambient lighting.

Before use
The iris and autogating do not guarantee protection against every bright-light condition. Do not point the device directly at the sun or intense light sources. Follow the device instructions for daytime handling, and switch it off and cover the lenses for storage.
Confirm compatibility before using batteries other than CR123A. Rechargeable cells of a similar size can have a different voltage.

Free shipping on every order within Japan
We normally dispatch within 24 hours of confirming payment, on business days only. Bank-transfer orders ship after payment is received; weekend and public-holiday orders ship on the next business day. We will contact you if stock availability or another issue causes a delay.
Warranty and repairs
We repair or replace devices free of charge for faults under normal use that are not caused by customer damage or negligence. Repairs for customer-caused damage are available at a special rate.
Image-intensifier tubes: free replacement within one year of delivery for faults not caused by intentional damage or customer negligence.
This benefit is additional to the lifetime warranty. Repair and replacement coverage continues after the first year.

Clean lenses gently with a soft cloth. Follow the device and battery instructions for storage and charging. Avoid looking at direct sunlight or strong light sources. See our care guide.
